To God be the glory...
Praise God from whom all blessings flow...
To the only God our Saviour be glory...
Forever and ever Amen...
Benedictions are a beautiful amazing thing.
And so I wonder what sort of benediction I'll use at my church someday.
I want to write something new and beautiful, and I want to honor the tradition of the old.
Here's my first stab:
To the God who is Life to all who believe,
To you we ascribe Glory and Honor and Power
May you teach every day to be more like you
until your Glory is achieved to the fullest.
Amen.
